Dr. Bea Smith's Approach to Hearing Health Care
Dr. Bea Smith, a Doctor of Audiology, is passionate about providing comprehensive hearing care that enhances overall well-being. Her journey into audiology began unexpectedly when she was conducting research as an undergraduate in speech pathology. On her first day working with patients, she treated both a set of premature triplets and a 98-year-old deaf and blind woman—an experience that instantly sparked her love for audiology.

By addressing both vision and hearing, she strives to improve her patients' daily lives and provide them with the highest level of care.
Education & Experience
Dr. Bea completed her undergraduate degree with honors in speech pathology and audiology, with a minor in special education, from Miami University. She earned her master's degree and doctorate at Indiana University and went on to work in two of the top 10 children's hospitals in the nation to help patients with different diseases and abilities. She is licensed to fit hearing aids and practice audiology by the state of Texas.
Dr. Bea Smith is a highly specialized researcher whose work on genetics, hearing, cancer, and chemotherapy has been published in various medical journals. Alongside her research partner, she pioneered a groundbreaking drug that helps prevent hearing loss caused by chemotherapy in certain brain cancer patients.
Dr. Bea has extensive experience training fellow providers, having previously worked as a specialist at a major hearing aid company where she educated professionals on best practices in patient care. She is also a sought-after speaker, sharing her expertise at national and international conferences.
Dedicated to advancing her field, Dr. Bea is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and continues to stay at the forefront of hearing healthcare.
Dr. Bea is deeply committed to giving back, having volunteered as a doctor in Honduras and using her proficiency in American Sign Language to serve diverse communities. Originally from Ohio, she enjoys home improvement projects, traveling, and fostering rescue dogs. In her free time, she loves spending time with her own pups, Hazel and Pfeiffer.
