Education & Experience
A graduate of the Southern College of Optometry in 1998, Dr. Bristol further expanded his expertise with a business administration degree from the University of Illinois in 2022.
His early clinical experience at a private practice in Jacksonville, Florida, and the Corpus Christi Naval Hospital in Texas helped develop his passion for glaucoma management, eventually leading to his certification as an optometric glaucoma specialist.
Dr. Bristol is recognized as a leader in his field and has served on the board of directors for the Independent Eye Care Providers of Texas.
His active participation in numerous professional organizations includes:

- Central Texas Optometric Society
- American Academy of Optometry
- Optometric Glaucoma Society
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Bristol is committed to optometric education. He has served as an adjunct instructor at Austin Community College. He continues contributing to the profession as a facilitator for PERC, a business group supporting the growth of optometry practices.
His expertise is often sought after for lectures on practice management, medical coding, glaucoma management, and dry eye syndrome treatment.
Beyond the clinic, Dr. Bristol is committed to giving back to the Austin community. He regularly donates eye exams through Prevent Blindness Texas, ensuring those in need have access to quality vision care.
When he's not caring for patients, Dr. Bristol enjoys an active lifestyle. He stays busy with exercise, reading, and traveling, but his favorite role is being a dedicated husband and father. Whether he's cheering on his son at soccer games, watching his daughter's gymnastics competitions, or engaging in friendly family ping pong matches, he values the time spent with loved ones.
